Trust & Will offers online will and revocable-trust packages. The useful comparison is the document price plus the work and support your family needs afterward. This guide separates those costs so you can decide what to check before paying.
What the packages cost
For broader budgeting context, compare our living-trust cost guide, which separates online-package costs from attorney-led work and other expenses.
| Package | Individual | Married couple |
|---|---|---|
| Will plan | $199 | $299 |
| Trust plan | $499 | $599 |
These are listed package prices, not an all-inclusive estate-planning budget. Confirm the checkout total, selected extras, and any recurring charges. Source: Trust & Will’s pricing guide.

What comes with each plan
Will plan: the company lists a last will and testament, financial power of attorney, advance healthcare directive, and HIPAA authorization.
Trust plan: the company lists a revocable living trust, a pour-over will, those financial and healthcare documents, an asset schedule, a trust certification, and funding guidance. Confirm which documents and arrangements apply to your state and household. See the published plan comparison.
Compare complete packages before purchasing separate products. The trust package already includes a will component. Our pour-over will guide explains why assets left outside a trust still need attention.
Updates, memberships, and renewal costs
You do not currently need a paid membership to edit your plan. The company’s membership guide lists document editing and digital downloads in its $0/year tier after purchasing an estate plan. This does not mean the original documents are free.
- Essentials — $49/year: adds features such as digital storage uploads, an AI assistant, and one document shipment per billing cycle.
- Pro — $299/year: adds attorney support, an estate-tax report, and premium support. The company says this upgrade is available in account settings after checkout.
Paid memberships renew automatically. Check your selected tier and renewal date in your account; the company says canceling membership does not itself invalidate your estate plan. Source: membership features and cancellation instructions.
The terms of service say subscriptions generally renew at the current non-promotional price and require cancellation at least one day before renewal to avoid the next charge. Recheck the terms attached to your purchase rather than assuming today’s rate is permanent.
Customer support and attorney advice are different services
The company separately lists an Attorney Support add-on at $299 for one year, with scheduled 30-minute phone consultations. Listed topics include document review, funding guidance, and estate-planning questions. Compare this with Pro membership before buying overlapping options. See Attorney Support details.
In-product attorney support is not available everywhere. Check the current state availability list. Referral services, where offered, have separate fees. Ask whether the proposed service covers your specific legal issue, custom drafting, deed work, or representation.
What you still need to do after purchase
- Review the choices and documents. Check names, beneficiaries, decision-makers, and whether the documents reflect your wishes. Resolve uncertainties before signing.
- Follow each document’s signing instructions. Witness and notary requirements differ by document and state. Completing an online questionnaire is not the final signing step.
- Arrange trust funding where applicable. Identify assets to transfer and confirm the required steps with the relevant institution or professional. A document package or asset list does not complete every ownership transfer.
- Keep accessible copies and review changes. Tell the appropriate people where the documents are stored. When you edit a document, follow the instructions for finalizing the revised version.
The company’s FAQ on finalizing and funding plans distinguishes guidance from third-party fees, such as recording charges. Ask about notary, printing, shipping, deed preparation, recording, and professional-help costs before deciding your total budget. Our trust funding guide can help you organize questions.
When to get tailored legal help first
Our recommendation is to resolve these questions before choosing an online package:
- Are there concerns about capacity, pressure on a parent, or family conflict?
- Do beneficiaries have special needs or receive means-tested benefits?
- Are there blended-family wishes, business interests, property in multiple jurisdictions, or tax-planning questions?
- Are you replacing an existing trust or changing ownership without understanding the consequences?
These are prompts for an attorney discussion, not a pass/fail test for buying a product. Ask what work is included and what requires a separate engagement. Find local context through your state guide.
If someone has already died, start with our estate-settlement guide. A new planning package does not substitute for administering their existing estate.
Check refund conditions before paying
The company publishes a 30-day satisfaction policy, but services already used can affect the refund. Its policy separately addresses attorney-support purchases and says payments for active paid memberships are non-refundable. Read the full refund policy; do not assume every charge has the same refund terms.
Before you choose
Write down the package, optional membership, support you need, and remaining signing or transfer costs. Compare that total and scope with an attorney’s quote. The right choice is the one that fits your family’s needs and leaves you able to finish the work.
